  • Homogeneous calcarenites impregnated with bitumen from 7% to 10% as lithic support for sculptures
  • Homogeneous calcirudites impregnated with bitumen from 7% to 10% engraving rock for ornamental use
  • It is not subjected to splintering
  • Colour: from black to matt brown.
  • Insufficient external chromatic frost resistance
  • Easy chromatic recovery through mineral oil treating
  • Excellent internal chromatic frost resistance
  • Cut parallel to the sedimentation planes
  • Craftwork production
  • Good external physical durability
  • Excellent internal physical durability
  • Due to the presence of the bitumen, it is ideal for the use in humid environments.

Asphalt rock products (commercial)

The pietra pece is above all used for industrial manufacture, for making precompressed asphalt tiles, for the urban paving and for the bitumazing or the tarring of the extra urban road basis.

This stone is also an ideal material for ornamental uses, as engraving stone is employed for centuries for the flooring of churches, houses and stairs, for the decoration of altars and balconies, sepulchral stones and many other uses.
